This development comprises 54 new affordable homes in North Walsham for Flagship Homes, set within a carefully considered landscaped masterplan that creates a strong sense of place while responding to the character of the surrounding area. The scheme incorporates a varied mix of house types, together with areas of public open space, children’s play facilities, an outdoor gym, pedestrian routes and an attenuation basin, creating a well-connected and attractive residential environment.

The architectural approach draws inspiration from the traditional character of North Walsham and the wider North Norfolk area. A carefully selected palette of red and buff brickwork, flint detailing, red and grey pantile roofs and feature cladding is used across the development. Subtle variations in materials, window colours and detailing help establish a number of distinct character areas while maintaining a cohesive appearance across the wider site.

DH Architecture + Design were appointed following the granting of planning permission to deliver the architectural services for RIBA Work Stages 4, 5 and 6. Our role involves developing the approved planning scheme into a fully coordinated technical design, including detailed construction information, house type drawings, setting-out information, schedules and Building Regulations documentation.
