DHA Office
Architects have long recognised the benefits of remote working, and as pioneers of this ideology, the DHA office seeks to embrace it by constructing a detached outbuilding that will form the base for our new office location. While city center locations have traditionally provided a street presence and ample footfall, the shift in mindset towards remote working has fundamentally changed views on work-home lifestyles. As a result, there has recently been a recalibration of traditional thinking, and a growing desire to have flexibility with our place of work
Additionally, in recent years there has been a significant shift towards rural locations, benefiting from the reduced noise and pollution experienced within the countryside, whilst helping to reduce our own impact on the environment, by reducing the lengthy commutes to and from distant places of work.
The design of the office achieves a unique blend of traditional and contemporary architecture through the use of elevational features, differing materials, and contrasting styles. This approach creates a unique external form and appearance, setting it apart as a standout example of rural Cambridgeshire architecture.
Internally, the space boasts an impressive mixture of traditional timber feature trusses and ridge beams, but with contemporary pitched ceilings and a polished concrete floor. A conscious move away from the norm of plaster-boarded finishes and painted plains has been made, creating a more authentic, quality space. This careful attention to detail creates a truly exceptional space to work, inspiring better design.
The office is currently under construction and is expected to be complete by 2024. Be sure to keep an eye on our social media pages for updates throughout the build.
