38 Woodlea Drive, Bromley

The project involves the expansion and renovation of a two-storey dwelling on Woodlea Drive. The existing dwelling required modernisation to enhance accommodation, thermal efficiency, sustainability, air tightness, and energy consumption for contemporary family living. A two-storey side extension and loft conversion achieved these improvements while preserving external amenity spaces, off-road parking, and cycle parking. This approach aligns with principles of reuse, recycle, and repurpose.

The proposed changes include an open plan living, and a small study/home office to meet current living standards, as well as five spacious double bedrooms. The design draws inspiration from the local street scene, incorporating traditional features with contemporary aesthetics. This adaptation responds to the evolving ways we live and work, particularly the increasing trend of working from home. The project aims to seamlessly blend modern functionality with traditional aesthetics, contributing to the cohesive architectural character of Woodlea Drive.
